On a holiday week, work is generally slow, which means we get extra time with Josh - we try to take advantage of him being off, so we took a trip up to Mt. Charleston.
We did a little hike - Caedyn started a leaf collection, while Cooper decided to draw the landscape.
Then we sat down for our picnic lunch - we were joined by several beautiful, wild horses!
It was our first trip in my new car & I couldn't be happier with our purchase - the kids LOVE the giant sunroof!
We also had a house guest - Aubrey hung with us another day. Caedyn absolutely loves having her around!
After Josh got off work on Friday, we drove up to Santaquin, UT to visit with Billy for the weekend. The kids loved helping him with his new chickens - Cooper even decided he wants to be a "Rancher" when he grows up so he can have chickens too.
After breakfast, we took a drive around the mountains by his house - the Uinta National Forest isn't even 2 miles from his front door & it's beautiful!
During our drive, we passed more orchard fields than we could count - you could tell cherries were in season, they spanned as far as the eye could see! We also spotted these guys in someone's front yard, aren't they adorable???
Our next stop was Cabela's - after shopping, they had all kinds of fun events for the kids to participate in!
To cool off, we stopped by Rowley's Red Barn for some ice cream!
That evening, we grabbed Cracker Barrel with Jesse & his family - it was so nice to see everyone! Plus, we finally got to meet their new little one, Carsen - he's not even 2 months, but already the size of a 3 month old!
After dinner, we let the kids run wild at the park. They all love each other so much, it makes my heart so happy!
With a long drive ahead of us, we headed back to Vegas fairly early on Sunday morning - plus, Josh had to get ready for his work week in Reno.
It was a great trip & so nice to catch up with everyone since our tragedy in February. We're hoping to make it back up again before the holidays this fall.
Until next time... :)
