Boulder BMX

Cooper decided he wanted to try another sport this fall instead of soccer or t-ball, and after getting a new bike from Auntie Gabby for his birthday, it seemed that BMX was the best fit. We started bringing him to the BMX track in Boulder City back in August, and he fell in love. We try to bring him each time they're open, but he gets plenty of practice in at home with the neighborhood kids. Friday night we brought him out for his first "official" race - he races on the strider track, he's not quite ready to put his pedals on and take a go at the "big dirt track", as he calls it. He spent an hour practicing on the track before it was time to line up - when we're there, he means business and only leaves the track when he needs a drink of water.

Caedyn watches from the sidelines with the rest of us, but is begging for her own "pink bike" so we know what she'll be getting for her birthday!

Aubrey came out to race, too, and practiced with Cooper until the race bell rang.

The 5 year old race was first and Aubrey took first, she sure is quick!

The 4 year old race was up next, and of the 3 boys in his class, Cooper took second! We are very proud of him!

I guess it's time to start getting him the proper gear if this is something he decides to stick with... no more paper plate for #748 ;)
