Last week we spent quite a bit of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather, because it's sure to warm up A LOT in the coming weeks. Cooper met his buddies, Mateo & Jayce, at the park and spent hours running around and playing make believe with them. For the most part, Caedyn stuck by my side or in the swings, she just got frustrated that she couldn't keep up with the boys.
Cooper got a hair cut, FINALLY - I've been putting it off, and couldn't take the mop on top of his head anymore. When he has a shorter haircut, it always makes him look so much older!
Now that our backyard is landscaped again, we've spent a lot more time back there - it's so nice to have that clean & safe place for the kids to run around. Plus, our kids love ice cream, so it's the perfect place for them to "chow up" (as Cooper likes to say) their cones.
Cooper is still playing t-ball & doing a great job, and Caedyn has become accustom to watching - She cheers him on every game!
Last Saturday was Aubrey's 5th birthday party at the pool - I'm still amazed that she's 5, time seems to be flying by! The kids had a blast - cake, ice cream, & cotton candy, thanks for that Auntie! Cooper is very comfortable in the water and got a little crazy doing cannon balls & sure enough, whacked his head and he left the pool with a golfball sized knot on the back of his noggin. I swear a broken bone or stitches are coming any day now.
After the party, we went back to their house to watch Tinky open her presents and the kids played hard. Aubrey even introduced Cooper to their new chicks!
On Mother's Day, we had a very relaxing day around the house. Josh made me an amazing breakfast and Michael came over and cooked us an awesome dinner, crab legs, and oh. my. gosh. they were gooooood.
On Monday, Cooper had his team t-ball pictures - these boys are all SO handsome. I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out!
We also spent some time with Dina & baby Theo. He's become quite vocal and definitely didn't like Caedyn crawling into his walker, she just gave him the stare down - I love these two!
This week we caved and finally got our house & shed painted! It has been on our "To-Do" list since we bought the house but kept putting it off until I couldn't take it anymore & I'm SO glad we did it. They guys did an amazing job & Cooper even "helped". It's crazy how much a little paint transformed our house. Next project, our front yard - I swear it's never ending, but so worth it.
Thursday evening we met my parents at the Helldorado Fair & Rodeo. Cooper insisted that we all wear our boots since we were going to the rodeo & we obliged. It was pretty warm out, but as soon as the sun went down, it cooled off.
Our first stop, food. We each picked our own meal and ate quickly so we wouldn't miss mutton bustin'. Caedyn took her time, as always, then wanted popcorn & lemonade - she's such a spoiled princess.
Going on Thursday was the best idea ever, it wasn't busy at all so we had a lot of area on the bleachers for the kids to stretch out and climb around. Gina & her boys, Cade & Chase met us there so Coop was excited he had some boys to hang with. Caedyn was more interested in the people at the rodeo, than the actual event, but she followed suit whenever anyone started clapping, Cooper on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off the arena and said his favorite event is the "buckin' broncos", oh geeez.
After the rodeo Cooper got to pick a few things to do at the carnival, and I got to do them with him! I love how adventurous and tough he is!
Saturday we were invited to go to the splash pad at Reunion Trails Park with Christina & Kensey, it was our first time at that particular park, and definitely won't be our last, IT WAS AWESOME! Caedyn doesn't like to be splashed in the face, but loved playing and stomping in the water, while Cooper couldn't have gotten more wet, he ran, slid, and jumped thru the water anywhere he could.
After getting worn out by the water, we had a t-ball game. Caedyn crashed on our way there and slept thru the whole thing. I couldn't have asked for a better day with my kids, except if Josh was with us - he's been working long days & weekends, but we're thankful we get to see him before bed time every night. Until next time ;)
