The weekend before last was a very eventful one, to say the least. Saturday morning the kids and I made a special trip to Boulder Bowl for Tanner's birthday party. Cooper strapped on his bowling shoes & bowled like a big boy, with bumpers of course, while Caedyn still needed quite a bit of help. She loved pushing the ball down the lane and watching the pins fall - she would giggle, dance, and clap her little heart out.
After the eventful party, and the kids were well worn out, we picked up Snickers & loaded up the car for our drive to Pasadena, CA. Josh finally had a day off work and we wanted to spend it with him. We got in early evening, anxious to get out of the car and starving, so we stopped at Tokyo Wako, a teppan yaki restaurant for dinner. Both kids loved it, dinner & a show.
Sunday morning, after a rough nights sleep, we grabbed breakfast and headed to the Santa Anita horse track. We spent most of the day watching the races from the infield, where the kids could run & play while we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Before each race, we would walk out to the front of the track to watch the horses & jockeys be paraded about. They sure are some beautifully sculpted animals!
Before leaving, we were sure to get a family picture. What a beautiful track, and we couldn't have asked for better weather!
That evening, we went back to Josh's "home away from home" to BBQ and relax before our long drive home.
Luckily, last weekend was fairly calm and uneventful to prepared us for the weekend ahead.
