My Favorite People

This past week we got a visit from two of my favorite people in the entire world - my grandparents. They flew in from Illinois and stayed for a week - the first few nights at my parents and the rest of the time at our new home. I was in a mad rush to get everything ready and organized before they got here so my Grandma wouldn't feel the need to work on her vacation.

They arrived late on Thursday night so we rushed over to my Moms early Friday morning. They were so happy to see how much Cooper has grown since they saw him last. He showed them how well he can crawl now - motoring all over the place.

On Saturday we spent quality time around the house - catching up and relaxing. Sunday we decided to go shooting. We brought a few guns and Coopers ear muffs and headed out to Boulder City's shooting range. It was a beautiful day, the wind had died down just enough and the sun was shining bright.

Every week it seems he has a few new "things." This week he's beginning to pull himself up to stand on his own... mostly on the couch - I'm afraid walking will be coming any day now! He's also started sucking his bottom lip into his mouth and blowing spit bubbles - it's cute for now, let's just hope it doesn't last long, he slobbers EVERYWHERE! No teeth still - (thankfully!) but he chews his nipples and binkies like he's teething.

Monday was another relaxing day around the house - cleaning, doing laundry, and spending time in the backyard enjoying the beautiful weather. On Tuesday we spent some time at the Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City. They have two ponds that get stocked with Catfish in the summer and Striper in the winter - it was a bit too breezy to fish so we just walked around and played in the grass for a few hours.

"My First Fishing Hat"

My brother, Michael, forgot to wear a hat - he is bald and burns easy so we made him a makeshift hat out of one of Coopers blankets we had laying around in the truck.

Wednesday my mom took off work and spent the day with us. We spent the morning around the house then went out to the Springs Preserve on the north side of town - it's beautiful there this time of year, not too hot yet. They have all kinds of hands on museum exhibits for kids, my mom loved them go figure ;)

Yelling at us to move faster!

They also have a small live desert animal exhibit - with snakes, scorpions, and the cutest little kit fox!

They also have a little cafe by Wolfgang Puck - we stopped in for lunch and sat on the balcony.

We ended the afternoon walking around the gardens - the flowers were in bloom and the weather perfect. We couldn't have picked a better way to spend the day!

The Group!

My grandparents left Thursday afternoon shortly after brunch. They arrived safely back home and we can't wait until May to visit with them again!

This weekend Josh and I both came down with the nasty stomach flu, we were miserable - luckily Cooper didn't catch anything! The Hohn's babysat for us so we could recooperate. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends in our life :)
