Cooper and Me
Hmmm... what's under here?
Wednesday Cooper and I headed to the airport to catch our flight to Houston, TX to visit Grand-paw and Grand-maw. We got through security then found out our flight was delayed 2 hours - luckily he was in a great mood!
Looking out the airport windows.
Crawling around the dirty, dirty floor.
Once we finally arrived, it was SUPER late so we all headed straight for bed. In the morning we awoke refreshed and ready to take on the day! My dad and Val got Cooper an early Easter basket with some clothes and toys, so that kept him entertained for a some time while we got ready for our road trip.

We set out on our wildflower tour to a little town called Marble Falls. We took the backroads and stopped several places along the way. Our first stop was the Blue Bell Creamery - Texas is known for this delicious treat. They also have a beautiful flower garden out front that we couldn't resist passing up.

The biggest yawn!
He couldn't wait to taste some ice cream!
After our tasting, we hopped back in the car and continued on our journey. We brought several toys along to keep Cooper occupied during the ride. His favorite was a Sesame Street steering wheel - equipped with turning signals, a rear view mirror, and a radio. All I hear now in my sleep is "Weatherman Ernie here!" That toy was "accidentally" left in Houston when we flew back home ;)
Playing with his steering wheel.
Our next stop was in a little town called Dime Box, TX. We stopped for lunch at a little soul food cafe - I had the best chicken wings I've ever had, Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't even compare! Cooper gobbled up all his food and then expected to eat ours too.
Screaming for some chicken.
When we finished up eating, we headed on our way again. We finally came upon a few fields of flowers and stopped to snap some pictures.
I've searched and searched yet I still can't find what kind of flowers these are...

After dinner that night, we finally reached Marble Falls. We spent the night in a hotel room - Cooper got a bath and our heads hit the pillow.
Clean boy & Grand-paw
With little sleep we got up and ready to go the next morning. We shopped a little then headed to Johnson Park. The weather was warm with a slight cool breeze - couldn't have asked for anything better!
Grand-maw and Cooper
He had been in swings several times before, but that didn't change his enthusiasm for them this time! After playing on the play ground for a while, we set up a blanket in the grass and watched the ducks and geese play.
Concentrating!
Happy as can be :)

After spending quite some time at the park, we headed downtown for lunch. Cooper crashed while we ate, then we were on the road again headed back for Houston.

Unknown - this flower was extremely tiny, less than half an inch across.
On our way back home, we made a stop at the Wildseed Farms - you could buy any kind of flower seed imaginable. They also had fields and fields of "wildflowers" We stopped for a break in the beer room and Cooper danced on the table.

We made one last stop before getting home that night - Steak 'n' Shake! MMMmmm.
Giving me the look "Mom what is on my head!?"
We arrived back at my dad's late Friday night and quickly hit the sack. The next morning we immediately started getting things together for the BBQ. Everyone arrived around 2 o'clock - we ate, drank, and laughed too much!
Cooper ready to party!
The biggest Cubs fan I know, Uncle Chuck!
Jon and Kim stopped by with their little one, Jason, who is a little over a month older than Cooper - they played great together! Both of them are such happy, laid back babies.

Cooper's favorite thing to play with on Saturday was a chair. He would pull himself up on it, walk around it while holding on, and crawl under it. He crawled over the center bar on the bottom and got himself stuck, he couldn't figure out how to move forward or back - it was hilarious!

STUCK!

Alicia and Cooper
After our busy day, Cooper went to bed early and slept soundly twelve hours through the night. The next morning he spent some quality time with his Grand-paw and Grand-maw while I got us packed up and ready to head back home.
Eating his yogurt bites - he LOVES feeding himself!

We left for the airport, caught our flight, and landed home on Sunday afternoon. Cooper was awesome on the plane, both ways, and we had a wonderful visit. We love and miss you guys already!
While we were out of town, I got a phone call from my brother-in-law Jesse - Stephanie just had their new little one.
Jacob Adam Craig was born on April 16th - weighing 8 pounds 3 ounces & 21 3/4 inches long.

What a beautiful little boy to add to our family!
