He is Risen!

We started our Easter celebration by visiting the Easter Bunny. Cooper decided he wanted to tell him what he wanted in his Easter basket, but was stumped when he didn't talk back. We kept giggling with the questions he was coming up with... "Do all bunnies smile like that?" & "Why is his mouth open but he doesn't talk?" ... he's such a curious little dude!

Cooper is finally old enough to begin to understand the true meaning of Easter, so we got him several books to help explain the story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. As always, he has a million questions, but the idea is starting to catch on.

We spent Friday evening coloring Easter eggs with Riley and the Busch girls. Cooper got crazy with mixing different colors, while Caedyn stuck mostly with purple & pink, shocking I know! ;)

On Saturday we wanted to bring the kids out to do something fun, and since we hadn't brought out our four-wheelers in a while, it was the perfect idea! The weather was great, so we packed a cooler full of drinks and a picnic lunch and spent most of our afternoon at the dry lake beds just outside of town. Cooper is getting so good on his little quad, and gaining so much confidence, we couldn't be more proud!

Easter morning, the kids woke up fairly early and dug into baskets full of goodies brought by the Easter Bunny, and luckily for me, he forgot to bring them candy!

Once Grammy & Pops got to the house, it was time for the egg hunt - the kids emptied their baskets and off they went to fill them again.

We were lucky enough to get a little visitor during our hunt...

After finding each and every egg, the kids emptied their baskets once again to take a look at their new goodies.

Of course Grams & Pops brought them each a basket too, full of fun little toys and bunches of candy.

After all of the Easter activities were done, we relaxed and watched Frozen & Big Hero 6! Theresa, Sarah, & Sam drove down from St. George to celebrate the holiday with us, and Bev joined too.

Before sitting down to dinner, we snapped a few quick family pictures...

Once the ribs were done, it was time to eat! Josh did an amazing job, as always, BBQing and smoking several racks!

Unfortunately Papa Dave couldn't join in the Easter fun because he was stuck at the station, but we made a special visit to the birthday boy at work.

Today I am thankful for the many blessings God has put in my life, and leave this post with my favorite Easter bible verse...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." -John 3:16-17

Happy Easter! :)
