Coop's Week

The big day that Cooper had been waiting for finally arrived, his 4th birthday - he got to decide what to do all day long, along with our menu. All he wanted to do was play with Gregory, so he came over and spent the day with us. Cooper wanted corn dogs for lunch, so we went to Chilly Jillyz to celebrate. Grammy & Pops joined us for dinner - he picked ribs, mac & cheese, and asparagus, not a bad combo!

After dinner, we let him open some gifts - Grammy & Popi got him a headlamp for frog giggin' and we surprised him with his first gas powered 4-wheeler, now he can go riding like Daddy.

Cooper picked out red velvet cupcakes for dessert, we sang him "happy birthday" & he blew out the candles.

On Wednesday we had an amazing storm - lightning, thunder, & hail, all followed by a beautiful rainbow. The kids and I spent all afternoon outside enjoying the change in weather.

Josh's mom & step-dad, Robin & Billy, came into town on Thursday so we all got rooms at The Golden Nugget and spent most of our time at their pool, "The Tank". The pool surrounds a swim up 200k gallon shark tank with a 3-story slide right thru the middle, needless to say, Cooper was enthralled.

After swimming all afternoon, we got cleaned up and walked Fremont St, an experience in & of itself - I don't think I've ever seen our kids' eyes as wide.

Friday morning my mom met us downtown and we headed for the pool again - our kids will never have their fill of swimming, I swear they were born half fish.

We even caught some divers cleaning the tank....

Cooper wasn't tall enough to go down the "shark slide" but that didn't stop the rest of us, and it was SO MUCH FUN!

That evening I unpacked our bags and made a big pot of jambalaya for dinner - Grandma & Grandpa J came by and spent the evening with us.

We spent Saturday morning at our friend Crystal's new tattoo shop, Aged in Oak, for her grand opening celebration - if you haven't been, you're missing out! That afternoon we celebrated Gavin's 11th birthday at his pool party.

Caedyn and Gage are 9 months apart, he's bigger than she is, but that doesn't keep her from pushing him away - he's always trying to rub her face & hug on her, but she isn't the lovey type.

Saturday evening I made a big dinner and Robin & Billy joined us, again. A busy Saturday indeed.

Sunday morning was the big day, Cooper's 4th birthday party - him & Cae relaxed around the house while Josh & I got a few last minute things ready.

After setting up, the kids started arriving, and straight to the pool they went.

Cooper decided when it was cake time - he's always embarrassed to be the center of attention in a big group of people, and he couldn't help but show that embarrassment as everyone sang to him.

After cake, it was time to open presents - Coop enlisted Riley & Peyton to read his cards, while he tore apart the gifts. As usual, he got everything he asked for & more - such a lucky little boy!

Caedyn even got in on the present action - she got a brand new baby & a doctor set.

Of course we couldn't end the party without a picture of the babies together, only missing Din & baby Theo.

... a family picture, too! We're so thankful for such a fun & silly little boy, he's constantly making us laugh!

We threw the party at my parents house this year, we're so thankful they don't mind sharing their home with us & our friends! Grandma & Grandpa J celebrated with us, too - you can always leave it to Cooper to strike a goofy pose.

After hours of fun in the sun, our kids were worn out...

Thank you to all of our amazing friends and family who joined us to celebrate another year of Cooper's life - we love and appreciate each and every one of you! :)
