A Weekend Away!

Thursday was Josh's birthday, unfortunately he was working and we weren't able to celebrate on the day, but the kids wanted to make him feel extra special so we sent him a fun birthday video!

August 8th, I was finally able to cash in on part of my Christmas present, tickets to Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience - if you don't know what that is, I doubt we can still be friends! Gabby was my date, as we did almost 8 years ago. First we ate at Carson Kitchen, a new restaurant downtown & the food was absolutely amazing.

Once we stuffed ourselves, we headed to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the show & it was better than I remembered. Other than singing and dancing, he played the guitar & piano - his talents seem to be limitless.

We couldn't have asked for a better night out - a big shout out to Josh for getting us the tickets!

Saturday morning, Josh and I woke up at the crack of dawn, loaded up the truck, and headed for Laughlin. We met Jerome & Angelique, and Beau & Jaclyn at the Avi and made our way to the Bullhead Aloha River Regatta launching point.

After getting our tube inflated and loading up the coolers, we were off to float the Colorado!

We ended up tying off with several other floats, one of which had a trampoline - it provided us with endless laughs, and we learned that Jaclyn has "grippy feet"!

Between tons of beer & jello shots, everyone was having a blast.

The weather was warm, the music loud, the water cold, and our drinks were colder - we couldn't have asked for a better time! At the end of the float, 5 hours later, we pulled our tube out of the river and grabbed the first shuttle back to the truck. We were ready for a cool shower and some dinner!

Once cleaned up, we gambled a bit before dinner, Angelique taught me how to play blackjack ;), and I walked away with enough to pay for our food & then some, SCORE! After dinner, by then extremely exhausted, we went back to our room before 10, but woke up refreshed and hungry! We met Angelique and Jerome for breakfast before driving back to Vegas to pick up our kids.

That evening, we celebrated Josh's 34th birthday - We BBQ'd with family and some of our closest friends, thank you for coming to help us celebrate!

It was a much needed adult break for me - we couldn't have asked to spend our weekend with greater people! Now to prep for next weekend... Big Bear!
