This week was exhausting to say the least - Not only was I chasing after Cooper and the dogs, but I had a birthday, we went to the zoo, AND it was Halloween! Now that Cooper is very mobile, and I say very because he now runs instead of walking, he gets into everything. We always know when he's up to something when the house is dead quiet.
Always up to something.
Some friends of ours gave us this swing - their son had outgrown it, so we hung it in the garage and every time Cooper sees it he HAS to go for a ride.
Just a swingin'
For Christmas Josh and I decided to get Cooper a wagon - We ordered it early to insure we got the one we wanted before it sold out. Once the package arrived we put it together, a little premature I know, and decided why wait to start using it??
Going for a ride around the block.
Wednesday was my 24th birthday. After some cake with the family, my very best girlfriends and I went out for some drinks and dancing. First we met Lindsay and Jenell for some food at Firefly before heading to the Palms and Palazzo. Luckily I made it home before Josh had to leave for work AND felt re energized the next morning.
Happy Birthday to me! :)
On Friday night Josh and I celebrated my birthday while my parents watched the little monster. We had dinner and some drinks at Texas de Brazil - if you haven't been, you're missing out.

Saturday we spent the evening at the Furley's carving our pumpkins while the kids painted theirs.

On Sunday morning once Cooper woke up, we packed up the car and headed to Moapa for some animal fun at Roo's N More. My friend Nichole and her adorable little family met us out there to spend the day. They have a daughter, Emilee, who is 3 days younger than Cooper. It's always fun seeing the kids so close in age interact!
The kids going for a ride.
Once inside, they have animals wandering about to pet and take pictures with. I was quite amazed, and very impressed, at the variety of species they had that I had never even heard of before!
An armadillo - they're nasty little creatures!
I got to hold a 10 month old kangaroo!
Then it was Josh's turn.
I had NO idea they had camels out there - anyone who knows me knows my obsession with camels, I was super excited to say the least!
My favorite!
Cooper & Josh getting friendly with my buddy.
My Handsome Boys!
Cooper feeding the ostrich.
Josh petting the sloth.
I don't recall the species of animal below, but I do remember the facts. This little princess happens to belong to the 5th largest rodent species in the world, so basically a giant rat... Eeeek!
The giant rat.
Emilee enjoyed her...
& Cooper did too!
I finally got Cooper to sit still long enough to get his face painted. Although it was a chore for the artist, we walked away with a cute little pumpkin on my cute little pumpkin.
What a cute little pumpkin :)
This little fella was walking around on a leash when Cooper took an interest in him. He was a sweet little llama that let the kids climb all around him. Cooper thought he was like his dogs at home and just wanted to play.
"Time to chase me!"
Trying to take the llama for a walk.
Snakes freak me out, BIG TIME, so Josh got the opportunity to hold one and introduce him to Cooper. Amazingly Cooper was so interested and not scared one bit!
Josh, Cooper, & the big bad snake!
Emilee & Jason playing with the snake too.
In the spirit of Halloween, Roo's N More painted their zebra, Zepher, green with food coloring - it was quite a sight to see!
Cooper inching his way towards Zepher...
And finally getting the courage to pet him.
Emilee taking her chances too.
Before leaving, we made one last round to feed the animals the food we had leftover. Cooper became enthralled with the goat because he ate everything!
Feeding the goat apples & cereal treats.
Once back in town we spent the afternoon at Shorty's house since he made a trip down from the mountain for the weekend. We then headed to Shawn & Amanda's for dinner, she really is the best cook!

Monday afternoon after Josh got off work, we dressed the little man up in his costume, took a few pictures with his pumpkin, and made our way to the Busch household.
A boy and his work of art.

My little engineer!
Coop & Elle ready to trick or treat.
Once everyone arrived, we made our way to pile the kids bags full of candy. Cooper eventually got the hang of it and would wave to people after they put a treat in his bag, what a smarty pants!
The candy clan.
Licking away.
Frankenstein, Scooby Doo, & the Corpse Bride
Wyatt stopping to smell the flowers.
Enjoying their suckers.
Even Hooch came in costume!
The bull with his bull rider!
After all the kids were tuckered out, we headed back home to put the munch to bed. All in all it was a very successful first time trick or treating for our little man. Now time to get ready for our next adventure, Idaho here we come!
