Camping the Cove

We spent our New Years weekend in Needles, CA at Pirates Cove ringing in 2016 with a group of great friends! We loaded up our quads & trailer and drove about 2 hours to our campsite on Thursday evening.

After setting up camp, we joined everyone by the fire to roast hotdogs & marshmallows - once 11 o'clock rolled around, we broke out the sparkling cider to ring in 2016.

We woke up to a beautiful view on Friday morning - below is a picture from out of our trailer door. The weather was pretty chilly, and windy at times, but we bundled up and weathered the cold. The kids spent countless hours playing on the beach or riding around the campsites.

After breakfast, we all loaded up and drove to Oatman, AZ to spend the afternoon.

Our first stop, The Candy Shoppe - they had all kinds of old fashioned candy & homemade chocolate that brought me back to my younger days.

We spent a good part of our afternoon wandering through the antique shops and browsing the street vendors - I don't think anything for sale was made after 1960!

Of course, we couldn't visit Oatman without feeding the donkeys - definitely the kids favorite part of the day.

Saturday was spent relaxing - we went on numerous rides, either in the little toys or the big ones,  all while bundled up to stay warm.

Sunday was the warmest day of the weekend, it was a shame we had to pack up and leave. The kids got their last minute playing in before we had everything loaded.

Before leaving, Caedyn & Riley wanted to take a few pictures - they are the cutest girls!

Such a fun way to ring in the New Year - we'll definitely be back when it's warmer to play in the water!
