We ended the Month of May celebrating my brothers 28th birthday - when he blew out the candles there was enough smoke to set off the smoke detectors!
Josh & I got a night out together, which very rarely happens. We met Angelique and Jerome at the Darryl Worley & Gary Allan concert, which was awesome! I was worried about it being outside, but we couldn't have asked for better weather - once the sun went down it cooled off and there was a slight breeze!
We've also spent several hot days cooling off in the pool, whether it be at a friends, our place, or my parents, either way, our kids LOVE the water.
One day we set up the slide/pool and Christina brought Kensey over for the kids to play and picnic - it was adorable.
Caedyn is becoming more girly with each day that passes. She loves helping me go thru clothes and playing with the laundry baskets, painting her toes, and cuddling. She's also learning the concept of sharing, it's still a work in progress but we've had several breakthroughs!
I was lucky enough to get an afternoon away to spend time with Stefani for her birthday - Angelique got her a cabana at Planet Hollywood and we had tons of fun.
Josh finally had a day off work so we went to his favorite store, Bass Pro. They had a "Kids Summer Camp" going on where Cooper was able to shoot a BB gun at a target with a little help from his Dad. Of course we couldn't pass the boats and four-wheelers without them climbing all over them.
The following week we had several pool days - joined by Gregory, Christina & Kensey one day and Auntie Gabby another.
Beginning of summer also signified the end of Cooper's first t-ball season. His team had a big party at Hidden Falls park and all the boys had lots of fun. Caedyn loved tagging along behind the boys too. Besides dinner, they also passed out trophies. A BIG thank you to Coach Mike for making this season a memorable one!
As often as possible, we like to meet my Mom at her work for lunch - otherwise we don't usually see her during the week since she works long days. The kids know her co-workers by name now and they love it.
Cooper is a really good big brother - he gets very protective of Cae, is always upset when she gets into trouble, and loves to help her accomplish new things, and one of those things was jumping on a trampoline. Aubrey was also there to help, but Caedyn very desperately wants to be independent so she fights off any attempt.
This past Saturday we were very busy, first we went to celebrate Beckham's first birthday. The party was great and the kids had a blast, they had everything from a hot dog machine to water guns to a giant blow up slide!
After the party, the kids hung with Josh & I got an evening out alone with my Mom, which NEVER happens. We did the Boulder City Wine Walk - drank lots of wine & found out about businesses that we didn't even know existed!
Before heading home, we met Josh & the kids at Veteran's Memorial ponds to watch them fish. Cooper caught a fish on his brand new pole, reeled it in all on his own - his daddy was proud! Caedyn was more interested in going for rides in the wagon, typical girl.
For Father's Day we let Josh pick the plans. First stop, Bass Pro - he wanted to buy a nice pair of binoculars for his upcoming Elk hunt. Of course all the kids wanted to do was watch the fish and play on the quads.
After our shopping trip, we headed to my parents. We swam a little, but not too much (it was way windy) then relaxed watching Josh "fish" on the Wii, while Michael made us dinner.
The kids handed out gifts, and of course wanted to help unwrap them as well.
Happy Father's Day to all you amazing dads out there - I know I was definitely blessed with both of mine, and my kids couldn't have a better Dad either! We're a lucky bunch!
The following week, Cooper started swimming lessons and he LOVES them, Caedyn loves going too. Cooper's teacher, Miss Michele has even commented on how much of a natural he is - I'm one proud Momma.
For Aubrey's last birthday she got a new four wheeler, so Auntie Amanda and Uncle Shawn gave Cooper her old one. It's battery powered so it doesn't go very fast, which makes me more comfortable with it, & the kids love it so it's a win-win!
Cooper is so comfortable he decided to start doing tricks, he sure knows how to make me nervous!
Later in the week, the kids and I met Jerome, Angelique, and Gregory at the GVR pool to play in the sand & water. After eating, the kids and I dove right in to cool off from the heat of the day.
My favorite part of the pool was the beach walk in, the kids could enjoy themselves without restraint and I could sunbathe :)
Cooper has started swimming on his own without his floaties, although he still requires full attention he's making his way to be more independent in the water, and he's so proud of himself. I love watching him accomplish his goals, it's very rewarding.
After a very busy few weeks, I get to go on vacation alone with my husband - I couldn't be more excited!!
