With Josh working out of town, he decided to take some extra time off work after Caedyn was born - this was a HUGE help and it was so nice to have him home for an extended period of time. We spent most of it at home relaxing and getting to know our new addition. She really is a very good baby - nurses well and loves to sleep.
On their way back from Christmas tree cutting, the Busch's stopped by to visit for a while. DeVille didn't want to give Caedyn up when it was time to leave.
Uncle Mike came up for a visit, too.
There's a small park down the street from our house that we walk to - Cooper loved playing on the swings and slides with Daddy!
Once Caedyn's umbilical cord fell off, we were able to give her a bath - she wasn't much of a fan!
Cooper says he wants to be a cowboy when he grows up, and that he's going to ride horses and bulls - this really scares me! I don't mind the horses at all, but no bulls so long as he lives in my house, no matter what his daddy says ;)
During a trip into Vegas, we visited with the Hohn's. Aubrey was so good with Caedyn!
At the "Kids Christmas Party" while Cooper ran around chasing Peyton, Caedyn and I relaxed. Once Peyton was worn out, she wanted to hold Cae, too.
One of Cooper's favorite things to do is eat breakfast while watching the planes at the airport, so as often as we can while in Vegas, we do just that.
One thing that hasn't changed, Cooper's favorite person is still Grampy.
Caedyn is becoming much more aware and active. She started smiling around Christmas time, and the first person she smiled at was her Daddy!
As all babies do, Caedyn LOVES to be held, but when arms aren't available, she'll settle for a swing.
With Christmas fast approaching and presents piling under the tree, Cooper became curious so we let him open one gift early.
At a house down the street from my parents in Vegas, they put on a show with their Christmas lights, they synced them to music - it was awesome! Cooper really enjoyed it, Sis not so much.
My dad and his wife, Val, visited from Houston for the holiday. It was their first time meeting Caedyn and they instantly fell in love.
We drove to St. George to spend Christmas Eve with Josh's dad and his family. After opening presents, we sat down to an amazing dinner, steak and crab legs.
Later that evening, Santa stopped by for a visit. Caedyn slept in his arms, but Cooper wanted nothing to do with him - Santa had to bribe him with a candy cane.
We spent Christmas morning at my parents - We ate a big breakfast and opened more gifts, our kids are spoiled rotten!
After the holidays were over, we spent the rest of the year relaxing at home. My dad and Val drove up and spent a few days with us, my brother followed a few days later. One day we took the short drive to Pine Valley for Coop and the dogs to play in the snow.
The next day while the guys went fishing, Val and I brought the kids to see Monsters, Inc 3D. It was Cooper's first time watching a movie in a theater and he did SO good, I was so proud!
While out on the boat, Josh caught a 22 in. brown trout, he was excited to say the least!
Down the road from our house is a dirt road that goes back into the desert. We decided to go exploring for a place to practice shooting. I finally got to shoot my new .22 and I LOVE it!!
Caedyn stays awake more and more every day, and loves watching her brother no matter what he's doing. He tries to involve her, but doesn't quite understand that she's still too small to play with him.
Before Josh went back up to work, we made sure to get a picture of him and his babies - they sure miss him when he's away.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a very blessed New Year! Here's to 2013! :)
